therapy & process
Therapy is a safe confidential experience where you can focus on connection to yourself: you will explore your thoughts, emotions, relational patterns and habits.
you don’t need to go it alone
You may have a problem that feels overwhelming or symptoms that you are tired of dealing with alone. These issues and feelings might be difficult to share with people close to you. During each therapy session, a non-judgmental space is created between us where you can open up and express your self fully.
In your initial sessions we will discuss why you have come to therapy and what you wish to achieve. Together, we will collaborate and form a flexible road map for us to follow.
Healing is an act of self –creation.
How long will my therapy sessions last?
Individual therapy sessions typically last 50-60 minutes. Family and couples sessions are often longer lasting 60-90 minutes.
How often will we meet?
The frequency of therapy sessions depends on the individual and the situation. We will discuss this and agree upon it together during our first few sessions. Generally, therapy sessions occur about once a week, but this varies depending on the client.
What is the duration of the entire therapeutic process?
The frequency and length of treatment varies from person to person. Someone with deep childhood traumas may require more sessions than someone with current anxieties or life transitions.
Some people only need to stay in therapy for a few sessions. Others may stay for years. It is also possible to take hiatuses and return for a mental health tune up or when new challenges arise.
Rates and Insurance?
Therapy is an emotional and material investment in yourself. I am an out-of-network provider with all insurance companies. Services are provided on a fee-for-service basis and are charged directly to you, the client. I will provide a monthly statement that has all the necessary information for you to bill your insurance company directly. If you are unsure of your insurance plan’s mental health coverage, contact your insurance company to determine your mental health benefits.
You can check your coverage by asking your insurance company the following questions:
- Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
- What is my deductible for out-of-network, out-patient services and has it been met?
- How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
- What is the coverage amount or percentage per therapy session for an out-of-network provider?
Psychotherapy services may also be reimbursed under your Flex Plan or medical saving account.
Ending therapy is natural and positive.
To end your therapeutic process we will review the resources you have developed and strategies you have learned to use out in the real world.
